My name is Rima Rashed. I'm originally from Lebanon. I came to Canada at the age of 18 and have called Charlottetown home since 1995. Here, I raised my four daughters, built my life and business, became a part of this wonderful community, and I'm also a grandma for 3 wonderful children. Throughout my life, I have faced challenges that taught me the importance of hard work, kindness, and understanding others. My parents taught me to always be honest, generous, respectful, and willing to share and help people in need. These values have shaped the person I am today and continue to guide me in everything I do. I decided to run for City Council because I care about people and community. Over the years, I have worked in restaurants and retail, gaining valuable customer service experience. Working directly with people has taught me the importance of listening and treating others with kindness and dignity. I have great respect for our professional firefighters and their dedication to protecting our community. I believe public service is about listening, working together and making responsible decisions for the people we serve.
